Lang's 20 sparks Ontario to win over Mac-Hi

MILTON-FREEWATER — Mac-Hi outscored Ontario 12-9 in the fourth period here Saturday in boys Greater Oregon League basketball action.

It was too little, too late as Ontario held a commanding 46-29 lead going to the fourth.

Ontario earned its first GOL win as it went on to post a 55-41 win.

"We were a step slow on defense, and we didn’t execute on offense," Pioneers coach Nick Ellis said. "They just outplayed us."

Jordan Lang led Ontario with 20 points.

Ryley Croghan fired in 14 points to lead Mac-Hi. Nick Stanford added seven, but the Pioneers dropped to 0-2 in GOL action.

"We had a little run going as we had played well (in our last two games) against La Grande and Riverside," Ellis said. "We took a step back tonight."

Mac-Hi hosts Baker in a GOL counter Saturday.
