TigerScot girls wear out, fall to Pilot Rock

PILOT ROCK — Pilot Rock wore down Weston-McEwen in the second half here Saturday in Blue Mountain Conference girls basketball action.

The Rockets turned a 26-15 halftime advantage into a 52-22 victory.

"We held with them in the first half," TigerScots coach Amber Doremus said. "In the second half, we were dead. We didn’t go to passes and didn’t make good passes. We had 19 turnovers in the third quarter, after only having eight in the first half."

Tiffany Cain had a huge night on the boards for the TigerScots. Cain grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds as W-M won the battle on the glass, 39-34.

Jaymie Zimmerman led the TigerScot offense with six points.

Liz Willingham led the Rockets with 12 points.

"We had a great first half," Doremus said. "We’ve only got seven girls, and we got tired."

The TigerScots host Elgin Friday.
