COLLEGE PLACE — Walla Walla University’s women’s basketball team swept a two-game series from Northwest Indian College over the weekend, winning 59-57 on Saturday night and coming back Sunday afternoon for a 62-48 triumph.

The two victories boosted the team’s season record to 5-10. The Wolves don’t return to action until Jan. 28 against Corbin College’s junior varsity squad in Salem, Ore.

In Saturday night’s game, the Wolves had to rally from a 28-22 halftime deficit. On Sunday, the home team held a 20-13 advantage at the intermission.

"I thought we came out a little flat in both games," Wolves coach Bill Clancy said. "The second 20 minutes was definitely our best basketball.

"It’s just nice to get two wins back-to-back," Clancy added. "Good for the team; good for the morale of the program."

Heather McFadden led the way offensively for the Wolves in both games. She tallied 19 points in Sunday’s victory after a 25-point performance on Saturday night.

Dominique Pusher popped in 13 points and Megan Moore tallied 12 points for Walla Walla on Sunday. Cambria Mensink corraled eight rebounds and McKenzie Duellman and Katie Wilson grabbed six each.

Brydget Roberts finished with a game-high 25 points for Northwest Indian College and shared team rebounding honors with Amanda Black Bear, each with eight.

Tara Cly led the visitors in scoring Saturday with 15 points on the strength of five 3-point baskets. Black Bear added 14 points and Rogers was in double figures with 13.
