Doktorski to speak about her art at Whitman Friday




Artist Eileen Doktorski will speak about her new art installation at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Olin Hall, room 130, Whitman College. A reception celebration will follow in Sheehan Gallery. The installation, "Critical Junctures: The Sculpture & Installations of Eileen Doktorski," will run until Feb. 19.

Doktorski received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Parson's School of Design and her master of fine arts from Yale School of Art. She has been a Fulbright Scholar, and her work has received numerous awards from organizations such as the National Endowment for the Arts and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.

She has had more than 15 solo exhibitions nationally.

Doktorski currently works as an instructor of art and is the chair of the Art Department at San Jacinto College in California.
