Liberty Christian girls get past Bulldogs

RICHLAND — Hannah Berges scored 26 points to lead Liberty Christian to a 50-39 win over Dayton in a Southeast B District Southern Division girls basketball game here Friday night.

McKayla Bickelhaupt led the Bulldogs with 13 points and Katie Varney claimed nine rebounds for Dayton.

The Patriots marched to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

Dayton closed to within 10, 26-16, at halftime. It trailed 34-24 after three quarters after closing the gap to six points earlier in the period.

"We outplayed them for three quarters," Dayton coach Scott Hudson said. "The first quarter hurt us bad. We came out totally flat. It was 17-1 at one point."
