CONDON, Ore. — Welcome back Kristi Miller.

Miller, who became eligible this week, scored 18 points and handed out six assists in her first game of the season to lead Nixyaawii to a 72-37 win over Condon-Wheeler here Friday night in girls Big Sky Conference basketball action.

"Having her (Miller) back made our offense work better," Golden Eagles coach Jeremy Maddern said. "Seventy-two points is the most we’ve scored all season."

Nixyaawii had this one under control from the outset. The Golden Eagles raced to a 20-7 lead after one and never looked back.

"We came out with our transition game working well," Maddern said. "They doubled on our posts and left our guards wide open. We hit six wide-open treys in the first half."

Miller got help from Leona Benoist, who finished with a career-high 17 points. Suzette White Owl also crashed the double-digit mark for the Golden Eagles with 10 points.

Kanisha Perry and Benoist led the Golden Eagles to a 31-12 edge on the glass.

Cassie Lyda led the Knights with 13 points.

The Golden Eagles, 8-1 and 16-2, were idle Saturday and hosts Ione next Friday in a Big Sky game.
