Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers

Activities daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The annual center membership fee, $12, includes a subscription to the monthly newsletter. Spanish is spoken. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For details, call Mike Johnson at 527-0771.

Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays at noon. For information, call 527-3775. Bread, milk and a salad bar is available Monday-Friday. The menu this week is:

Monday: Haystacks, Jell-O Mandarin orange salad, corn bread, peaches.

Tuesday: Creamed chicken over biscuits, green beans, green salad, biscuit, fruit cocktail and cookie.

Wednesday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, flavor fiesta vegetables, green salad, French bread, fruited Jell-O.

Thursday: Salisbury steak with brown gravy, broccoli, baked potato, fruit juice or salad, roll, pudding.

Friday: Hearty Russian beef borsch soup, green salad, biscuit, peachy puzzle cake.

Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals available. Call 527-3775

Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with meals. Milton-Freewater menu is:

Tuesday: Roast beef, gravy, au gratin potatoes, broccoli, apple salad, hot roll, pudding.

Friday: Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, peaches, roll, cake, ice cream.

The Weston menu is:

Wednesday: BBQ chicken, baked beans, broccoli, mixed fruit salad, garlic bread, cake with ice cream.

Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk include. Suggested donation is $3. The menu:

Thursday: Ham with pineapple, potatoes and gravy, green beans, hot rolls, dessert.
