Irish girls overcome lackluster start against T-C Prep

WALLA WALLA — DeSales coach Tim Duncan cut his squad a little slack for its lackluster start against Tri-Cities Prep at the Irish gym Tuesday night.

"We came out a little flat after the weekend," Duncan said. "We won two big games (54-52 over Waitsburg-Prescott Friday and 59-55 over Asotin Saturday)."

That didn’t stop DeSales from winning the Southeast B District game in easy fashion, 46-16, over the Jaguars.

"I was pleased with out defensive effort, but we were not smooth offensively," Duncan said.

Caitlin Duncan scored 18 points — 11 on free throws — and nabbed eight rebounds for the Irish, while teammate Erin Guisti put up 10 points in the victory.

DeSales, 11-4 overall, travels to Touchet Friday.
