Washington State Penitentiary officials today are investigating a prison fight which broke out Tuesday evening involving about 50 inmates.
The disturbance occurred about 7 p.m. in one of the four close-custody units in the penitentiary's West Complex, said Shari Hall, prison spokeswoman. No staff members were reported injured. Several prisoners were also injured, but none required transport to the hospital.
The housing unit involved, Unit G, was on restricted movement status today, Hall said. The remainder of the prison was operating normally.Large prison fight reported Tuesday.
