In voting to allow corporations to funnel limitless amounts of corporate money into political parties and their candidates, these Supreme Court justices have essentially handed over the democratic rights of average citizens to corporations.
In a capitalist, representative democracy, we say that each person gets one vote, and therefore we all have equal political power. But, under this system of economic production, wealth gets concentrated into the hands of the few, and so does political, social and economic power.
Corporations and lobbyists already have too much control over the lives of everyday people, why give them more? Capitalism lives by no moral code -- its only demand is higher profits.
And in making this decision, the Supreme Court five and our government have now sold all of us out to that demand.
