Help for foster children appreciated

We appreciate so much the community's generous donations to the foster children's "Buddy Bag" program. We continue to make and give out these bags to children going in to foster care. This is a year-round effort made possible by the kindness and generosity of many community members.

At this time we are still in need of teenage items such as toiletries, reading books, craft projects and clothing. One request is for "Hoodie" sweatshirt tops in sizes medium to x-large, socks and lounge pants.

We strive to make the transition to foster care a little easier by giving these precious children, ages newborn to 18-years-old, a homemade blanket to curl up in, a Beanie Baby to snuggle with, age-appropriate toiletries and books and a few special items to show we care.

Our group started with six ladies and has grown to include many supporters. Once again we appreciate everyone who has helped to keep this program going. Many stitches of love, by a group of caring hands will be accomplished from your thoughtfulness.

If you'd like to donate please drop off items at "Caring Hands Fabrics" located at 901 W. Rose St. Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or the Department of Children and Family Services on Poplar Street to the attention of Nelly or Teresa.
