BURBANK -- An area resident was injured Thursday following a two-vehicle collision along U.S. Highway 12, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported about 1:30 p.m. at the highway's junction with Humorist Road.

The WSP reports that Acacio Solis-Martinez, 26, of Newberg, Ore., was heading west on the highway when he failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a vehicle driven by Abdelkader G. Mohamed, 51, of Burbank, in the intersection.

Solis-Martinez was not injured, but Mohamed was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment of injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, the WSP reports.
