Walla Walla University men outshoot Multnomah University, 111-98

COLLEGE PLACE — In a game that saw 166 shots from the field, including 76 3-point attempts, Walla Walla University rolled to a 111-98 men’s basketball victory over Multnomah University here Thursday.

The win improves the Wolves’ record to 11-16 on the season.

WWU connected on 41-of-85 field-goal attempts, and MU hit 36-of-81 tries.

The Lions went 14-for-41 from the 3-point line, and the Wolves hit 11-of-30 3-point tries.

Both teams had the range from the free-throw line, with Multnomah hitting 12-of-13 and with the Wolves hitting 18-of-21.

WWU had six players in double figures, with Gerard Dauphin and Jonny Long each booking 19 points.

Tristan Edwards scored 18 points for the Wolves. Tristan Greenidge scored 17 and ripped off a game-high 14 rebounds.

The wolves won the battle for rebounds, 57-28.

WWU’s Tucker Urdahl and Michael Sprenger scored 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Multnomah’s Nicholaas Kamlade led all scorers with 26 points, and Connor Hambleton scored 25. Jacob Fischer chipped in 12 for MU.

The Wolves led at halftime 54-41.

"That’s the way they like to play," WWU coach Gerry Larson said about the Lions’ shooting. "They like to press and use a lot of traps. They’re not very big, so that’s how they compete. They had several 100-point games this season.

"It was our senior night, so we started Jonny Long, Tucker Urdahl and Tristan Edwards, who will end their eligibility the year. They all scored in double figures, and they all had really good games," he said.

The Wolves return to action on Feb. 13 at Portland Bible, with a 7 p.m. start.
