DAYTON — Jessica Tate led a balanced attack with 10 points as Dayton scratched out a 46-37 victory over Tri-Cities Prep in a Southeast B District Southern Division girls basketball game here Friday night.

All but one of the nine Bulldogs who played in the game scored at least one point.

Dayton held a one-point edge, 15-14, after one quarter before busting things open.

There was about a four-minute span in the second quarter when the Bulldogs’ defense and transition game helped them roll into halftime with a 10-point lead, 29-19, Dayton coach Scott Hudson said.

The Bulldogs led 34-28 after three periods despite going just 1-for-15 from the field in the third.

Backing up Tate’s offensive effort was the defensive prowess of Kayla Dedloff, who limited the Jaguars’ Johanna Roach — one of the league’s top scorers — to eight points and a rebounding advantage of 35-17.

Adriana Ledesma’s 11 points paced the Tri-Cities Prep offense.
