Irish ‘role players' save the day in victory at Touchet

TOUCHET — Three DeSales players scored in double figures, and the Irish outlasted the Touchet Indians 65-41 in a Southeast B District Southern Division girls basketball game here Friday night.

Caitlin Duncan bombed away for 24 points, Jamie Majerus tallied 13 points and Erin Giusti dropped in 12 points for the Irish.

"We watched film and heard scouting reports," Touchet coach Scott Pumphrey said. "And Caitlin Duncan is going to get her points.

"We needed to stop the role players and we didn’t. It is a credit to Giusti and Majerus that they stepped up and played big for DeSales."

The leading scorer for the Indians was Zoe Weaver with 17 points.
