Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers
Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A complete listing of center activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in the center’s monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it. Spanish is spoken at the Center. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information, call Mike Johnson at 527-0771.
Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays at noon at The Center. For more information call 527-3775. Bread and milk are served with all meals and a salad bar is available Monday-Friday. The menu this week is:
Monday: Beef tips on rice, Oregon bean medley, carrots, muffin, pineapple.
Tuesday: Turkey, dressing, gravy, peas and pearl onions, mashed potatoes, bread, apple cobbler.
Wednesday: Baked breaded fish, corn, spinach salad, muffin, fruited Jell-O.
Thursday: Spinach souffle, Scandinavian mix, green salad, muffin, apple and cookie.
Friday: Breaded chicken patty with gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, bread, apricots.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg on Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals available. Questions: Call 527-3775
Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:
Tuesday: Corned beef and cabbage, Irish potatoes, spinach, rolls, lime Jell-O with whipped topping.
Friday: Pork patties, sauerkraut, whipped potatoes, green beans, apricots, bread, brownie.
The Weston menu is:
Wednesday: Fish filets with tarter sauce, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, beets, corn bread, spiced peaches.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk are served with every meal. The suggested donation is $3. The menu this week is:
Thursday: Country fried steak, potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, veggie tray, dessert, hot rolls.
