DAYTON — St. John-Endicott used a 20-point fourth quarter to pull away from pesky Dayton and win a Southeast B District cross-divisional basketball battle here Saturday, 62-48.

Four players hit double figures for the Eagles, led by Erin Schuster with 17.

Dayton was led in scoring by its post tandem of Katie Varney, 13 points, and Kayla Dedloff, 12 points. Dedloff registered a double-double taking down 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

"We have the No. 2-ranked school coming into our house, and at the 4:09 mark of the fourth we’re still in it only down by seven," Dayton coach Scott Hudson said. "The final score isn’t indicative of the game. We played with them the whole time. Earlier this season we lost to them by 26. The atmosphere in the locker room after the game was very upbeat."

Dayton resumes divisional play Tuesday at Walla Walla Valley Academy.
