COLLEGE PLACE — Walla Walla Valley Academy outscored Waitsburg-Prescott, 19-12, in the fourth quarter but couldn’t overcome its deficit as the Knights dropped the game, 54-43.

"We played well in the second and fourth quarters, but the first and third were where we let it get away," WWVA coach Monty Buell said.

Ronnie Hulce led a more balanced W-P offense with 11 points.

Kindra Moore and Victoria Buell each scored 17 for the Knights.

"Stats sometimes don’t tell all the good things players did," Buell said. "Kelsie Schafer has zeroes, but she played probably her best game of the year. Other people were doing little things that allowed us to at least be competitive in the fourth quarter. Kristi Buell, she had zeroes, but she’s our point guard and was high rebounder.

"We’ve been losing, but the last four games have been competitive."

WWVA, now 1-9 overall and 0-9 in league play, host Dayton Tuesday.
