Pacific loses in first round of 10-11 Little League tourney


CLARKSTON - Asotin County scored five times in the fifth inning to enforce the 10-run mercy rule and defeat Walla Walla Pacific 11-1 in the first game of the District 5 Little League 10-11 age-division baseball tournament here Monday.

The same two teams meet again here tonight at 7 and Asotin County can claim the district's lone ticket to the 10-11 state tournament with a victory. If Walla Walla wins and evens the district series at 1-1, an additional game will be required Thursday at 3 p.m. to decide the state berth.

Walla Walla notched its only run of the game in the second inning when Michael Daniel walked, Levi Haen doubled and Daniel scored on Alex Lemus' infield out.

Dakotta Bridges had two hits for the Walla Wallans, giving them four for the game.
