Blue Mountain Audubon continues its summer series of summer evening birding walks with a short hike along Bennington Lake 6-8 p.m. July 15 at the Bennington Lake Recreation Area on Reservoir Road.
The excursion will be led by veteran members of the Audubon club in locations of the Lake Recreational Area, where notable summer birds are known to be abundant.
Young birds following the recent spring nesting season -- western wood peewees, yellow warblers, Bullock's orioles, house wrens, and more -- will be seen.
The walk is open to novices and expert birders alike. Participants should bring binoculars if possible and meet with fellow walkers at the boat launch parking lot. For more information, visit www.blumtn.org.
