A Walla Walla man was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash early today, authorities said.
Rogelio Velasco, 25, of Chase Street, was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center with a possible spine injury, according to a Walla Walla County Sheriff's report.
Velasco was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the 5:10 a.m. crash along Harvey Shaw Road.
According to the report, a vehicle swerved to avoid crashing with a deer and another vehicle. The vehicle that swerved was then struck from behind by a third vehicle, which was badly damaged from the impact.
A St. Mary's nursing supervisor confirmed Velasco was being treated in the emergency room this morning, but did not have a condition available.
In a separate crash Sunday, a Touchet girl suffered minor injuries after the vehicle she was driving rolled along Highway 12 at mile post 329 about 12:20 a.m.
Nicole Brown, 17, and her parents were reportedly injured after over-correcting on the highway, causing the vehicle to roll down an embankment, according to reports.
