Lucille Olive Cunningham, 88, passed away July 24, 2010, at Regency
at the Park.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens. Fund through the Herring Funeral Home.
Lucille was born on Nov. 30, 1921, in York, Penn., to Lewis and Dove Criss Dietz. Lucille graduated from the eighth grade in Dayton and went on to high school. She met Gilbert Edwin Cunningham Sr. in
Dayton. On Sept. 1, 1940, they were married in Walla Walla. They celebrated many happy years together. He passed away on June 18, 1970.
Mrs. Cunningham's husband, Gilbert, joined the U.S. Navy and was sent to the South Pacific. Lucille gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. His name is Gilbert Edwin Cunningham Jr. Mrs. Cunningham
enjoyed being a seamstress. She made clothes for herself and for the Dorcas at her church. She also drew pictures and colored them. She enjoyed doing embroidery work and crocheting.
Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Elaine Cunningham Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and William H. Cox; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one
niece; three nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; one granddaughter; one great-nephew and one nephew-in-law.
