Theresa M. Card, 53, 1284 Lowden Gardena Road, was sentenced July 18 on one count third-degree theft. The sentence included restitution of $2,306.56, $200 in court costs, $97.30 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, 30 days in the county jail. On June 7, Card pleaded guilty to using a debit card belong to a deceased person, but claimed she was acting on his prior authority, but acknowledged the state had sufficient evidence to convict her, so she would take advantage of a plea agreement.
Josue Moises Leal IV, 30, 1638 Discovery Drive, was sentenced July 19 on one count violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-conspiracy to deliver marijuana. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $126.60 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 crime lab and biological fee, 90 days in the county jail, credit for 132 days served, 12 months community custody. On July 6 Leal pleaded guilty to conspiring with another to cause the delivery of marijuana on May 22, 2003.
