Fort Walla Walla Museum features new quilt exhibit

A new exhibit, "Practical Beauty: A Century of Quilts," will open Saturday at Fort Walla Walla Museum, 755 N.E. Myra Road. It will run through Oct. 31.

Spanning a century of regional quilt-making, this popular annual show highlights a sampling of the Museum's extensive collection and draws attention to Washington State's centennial anniversary of women's suffrage and the nation's 90th anniversary of the 19th amendment's ratification guaranteeing American women's right to vote.

Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through October. Admission is $7 adults; $6 seniors 62 and up and students; $3 children 6-12; free for under 6. For more information, call 509-525-7703, or visit
