Ronald and Maybelle Leinbach


Ronald and Maybelle Leinbach of Walla Walla celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary July 30.

The couple met while attending school in Umapine. They married July 30, 1938, in Dayton. Maybelle's maiden name is Burlingame.

Ronald retired from General Foods Corp. in 1978 in Walla Walla. He then worked several years for D&K Frozen Foods Inc. and Stokely USA. He is a life member of the Walla Walla Elks and Eagle lodges.

Maybelle drove school bus for Umapine School District for 10 years. She later worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Walla Walla, retiring in 1982. She is a member of Walla Walla Lady Elks, St. Mary Service League and several bridge clubs.

The couple farmed in the Gardena area most of their married life.

They are members of the College Place Presbyterian Church. They enjoy bowling, golf, playing cards and traveling.

They have a son, Ronald Leinbach Jr. of Touchet; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Ralph Wales of Walla Walla; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
