Dayton's National Night Out to be in City Park


DAYTON - National Night Out in Dayton will be observed Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the City Park.

Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be served.

National Night Out is a nationwide effort to mobilize communities against crime and drugs.

There will be 35 exhibits, including Life Flight and Med-Star medical helicopters, Fire District 3's fire trucks and ambulance and a demonstration by the Washington State Patrol's bomb robot.

Free swimming in the city pool is offered from 6 to 9 p.m.

There will prize drawings throughout the evening.

Columbia County Public Transportation will provide free "park and ride" shuttle service from First and Commercial streets to the park.

Garfield County to observe National Night Out

POMEROY - National Night Out in Garfield County will be celebrated Tuesday in the City Park from 5 to 9 p.m.

There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages.

Activities include games for kids and bingo for everyone.

Door prizes for kids and adults will be drawn throughout the evening. The grand prize for adults is a jet boat trip for two up Hells Canyon courtesy of Beamers Hells Canyon Tours and Friends of 911. Winners must be present to claim their prizes.
