Music series starts Saturday

The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation's Downtown Summer Music series will kick off this weekend and run Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 29.

Local bands will play from 1-4 p.m. at Land Title Plaza, First Avenue and Main Street. The free music series is funded by Banner Bank. For more information call 529-8755. Scheduled to play:

June 5 -- Road Less Traveled, Blues, rock n' roll, jazz, folk, funk.

June 6 -- The Pack A.D., Garage-rock duo from B.C.

June 12 -- Vintage, Classic rock and roll, country, blues and rockabilly.

June 13 -- Vaughn Jensen, rhythm and blues.

June 19 -- Penrose Lane, classic rock band - Beatles, Stones, '60s and '70s top 40.

June 20 -- Robin Barrett & Friends, blues, rock, R&B and classic rock.

June 26 -- Apartment 101, original rock and blues.

June 27 -- Snap Krackle Pop, R&B, smooth jazzand blues.

July 3 -- Feed Back, country, rock, oldies, blues, alternative.

July 4 -- The Slooches, rock n' roll, funky blues, dance, punk.

July 10 -- Mark Brown & Friends, jazz piano/mouth harp/trumpet, twanging guitar and vocals.

July 11 -- Snap Krackle Pop, R&B, smooth jazz and blues.

July 17 -- Vicki & the Velvet Tones, smooth rock and blues.

July 18 -- Bandit, Classic rock, modern country and pop.

July 24 -- Lark Drive, new country, classic rocks and acoustic.

July 25 -- Larry LaRiviere & The Bayou Boys, authentic Cajun and Zydeco tunes.

July 31 -- White City Lights, classic FM-era rock, pop, funk, R&B, country: '50s-'90s.

Aug. 1 -- Johnny No Land & Mike Hammond, classic rock, originals and gospel.

Aug. 14 -- Mark Brown & Pete Crawford, jazz, country original tunes and folk favorites.

Aug. 15 -- Pappa Frita & The Hot Mustard, classic rock funk.

Aug. 7-8 -- Peach Basket Classic: NO CONCERTS THIS WEEKEND.

Aug. 21 -- Blue Mountain Spanish Sound, Latin acoustic guitars.

Aug. 22 -- Money for Nothing, modern country, classic rock in three-part harmony.

Aug. 28 -- Vintage, classic rock and roll, country, blues and rockabilly.

Aug. 29 -- Philly King Bee & The Stingers, blues.
