Veryl LaVerne Erickson of Spokane, and formerly of Weston, passed away May 31, 2010, at the age of 97 years. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Weston Cemetery in Weston, with Pastor Bill Dobos officiating. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater, Ore. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Veryl L. Erickson to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.

Veryl LaVerne Erickson was born Dec. 17, 1912, the daughter of Sidney and Hattie (Gould) Tucker in Weston. She attended school in Weston and graduated with the class of 1930. On Dec. 24, 1931, she married Dale G. Erickson in Spokane. Veryl was a homemaker and together the couple raised six children. She attended the Church of the Brethren in Weston for many years. Veryl was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed cooking and loved her family.

Dale preceded her in death July 11, 1966, and several years later Veryl moved to Spokane, to be closer to her family.
Survivors include her children and their spouses; Arlene and Bruce McGuire of Yuma, Ariz., Larry and Sally Erickson of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Michael and Lidwina Erickson of Sun City, Ariz., Vicki and Bill Stevens of Coulee Dam, Wash., Duane and Karen Erickson of Wilbur, Wash. and Kevin and Mary Erickson of Indio, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Her parents; husband; and a brother, Keith Tucker all preceded her in death.
