Health and fitness -- and often the lack of them -- wind up in the news a lot, and today the U-B introduces a new place for you to read about ways to find a path to a fitter, healthier future.
Each week, these pages will feature columns from local professionals who will tackle topics such as medicine, nutrition and exercise. You'll find news you can use to make healthier choices for you and your family, feature stories about people like you -- and a few unlike anybody -- as well as new ways to think about a whole host of everyday choices we make that affect our minds and bodies.
These pages should be more than just a way to read about the topics, but also a way for you to get specific answers.
Want to find out how to increase your vertical leap? Hope to figure out if those Omega-3 oils are really as big a deal as everybody says? Weighing the benefits of swimming versus walking as an exercise plan?
If you have questions like these, send them my way and we'll see about connecting you with unbiased, reliable information. You can find my contact information at the bottom of this column.
Besides questions, you might have answers other people would benefit from knowing. If you have a deep knowledge of health and fitness topics and an interest in writing about them, I'd like to hear from you.
Our aim is to make these pages as interactive as print can be, so let us know how we're doing, what you're interested in and what you'd like to see us tackle.
And that vertical leap? I'm working on that, too, so stay tuned.
