WALLA WALLA - The Walla Walla Bruins dropped two games to the Richland Knights here Thursday.
The Bruins lost the six-inning first game, 15-1, and the complete second, 13-3.
"We played very uninspired baseball yesterday," said Bruins coach Jason Parsons. "That's about the only thing I can say."
The league losses dropped them to 8-6 in league play and 8-8 overall.
Despite posting the only home runs of the day - Moe Handcox in the first game and Taylor Lemke in the second - Bruins bats lagged, with the Knights smacking 13 hits to three in game one, and 10 to eight Bruins' bangs in game two.
Handcox's homer was the first run on the board for either team on the day - and the last for the Bruins in game one, as Richland went on to stack up a five-run fifth and 10-run sixth.
Richland posted five fast runs in the first two innings combined. They continued to score in every inning but the third. Walla Walla posted two in the third and one in the seventh, but it wasn't enough.
The Bruins return to the field Sunday, hosting 1 p.m. doubleheader with the Kennewick Phantoms at Walla Walla Community College.
