  • Erik Garcia-Lara, 20, 204 N. Main St., Milton-Freewater, was charged June 15 with second-degree malicious mischief. Garcia-Lara is accused of knowingly and maliciously damaging property on Jan. 5.

  • Vernon Ray Johnson Jr. 29, 47 E. Chestnut St., was sentenced June 3 on one count attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle. The court dismissed two other counts. The sentence included restitution of $212.53, $200 in court costs, $250 jury demand fee, $119 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, 12 1/4 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 230 days served, 12 1/4 months community custody. On April 13 Johnson pleaded guilty to willfully failing to bring his vehicle to a stop and driving in a reckless manner while attempting to elude a police vehicle on Oct. 10.

  • Antonio Saturnino Contreras, 23, 922 W. Alder St., was sentenced June 7 on one count second-degree taking a motor vehicle without owner permission. The sentence included restitution of $11,963.43, $200 in court costs, $79 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 14 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 40 days served. On June 3 Contreras pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle knowing it was unlawfully obtained on Oct. 26.

  • Camille Marie Montenguise, 49, 603 Holly St., was sentenced June 7 on one count violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-attempting to obtain controlled substance by fraud and two counts violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. The court dismissed three other counts. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $162.25 in sheriff fees, $775 in attorney fees, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 biological fee, 181 days in the county jail, credit for 11 days served, 170 days home detention, 12 months community custody. On April 15 Montenguise pleaded guilty to take advantage of the prosecutor's offer.

  • Will J. Guardado, 19, 633 D St., Umatilla Ore., was sentenced June 14 on one count second-degree theft. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $119.50 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 16 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections concurrent with another sentence. On May 13 Guardado pleaded guilty to wrongfully taking property belonging to Walmart worth $1,132.79 on April 27, 2009.

  • Will J. Guardado, 19, 633 D St., Umatilla Ore., was sentenced June 14 on one count second-degree theft and one count second-degree burglary. The court dismissed two other counts. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $151.10 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 50 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections. On May 13 Guradado pleaded guilty to entering or remaining unlawfully in a building other than a vehicle or dwelling with intent to commit a crime against a person or property and taking property belonging to Walmart worth $849 on Feb. 8.

  • Eduardo Miranda Salazar, 18, 37 McKay Place, was sentenced June 14 on one count each violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-possession of clonazepam and driving without or while license suspended. The court dismissed three other counts. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $108.80 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 each crime lab and biological fee, 45 days in the county jail, credit for 29 days served, 16 days partial confinement, 12 months community custody. On June 14 Salazar pleaded guilty to possession of clonazepam and driving while his license was suspended or revoked on March 20.

  • Kathrin Lynn Griffith, 23, 938 Mountain Park Road, was sentenced June 14 on one count violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-possession of heroin. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $100 crime lab and biological fees, four days in the county jail, credit for four days served, 24 months community custody. On June 14 Griffith pleaded guilty to possessing heroin on or about March 20.

  • Tyler Jeffrey Bain, 21, 3046 S.W. Harley, Pendleton, was sentenced June 14 on one count violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-possession of cocaine. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $62 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $1,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 each crime lab and biological fee, 30 days in the county jail, credit for 10 days served, 20 days converted to Department of Corrections work crew, 12 months community custody. On June 1 Bain pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine on or about Feb. 19.

  • Stephen Alexander Gamez, 20, 1007 W. Chestnut St., Apt. H, was sentenced June 15 on one count second-degree taking a motor vehicle without owner permission. The court dismissed one other charge. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $104.20 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 30 days in the county jail, credit for three days served, 27 days converted to Department of Corrections work crew, 24 months community custody. On June 1 Gamez pleaded guilty to taking a motor vehicle without the permission of the true owner on March 12.
