Walla Walla - David "Dave" Hopkins, 64, died June 14, 2010, atProvidence St. Mary Medical Center.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 1:00 to 5:00p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. through the service at MountainView-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla,Washington. The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 22,2010, at the funeral home. David Evans will officiate. Memorialcontributions may be made to Providence St. Mary Regional CancerCenter through the funeral home.

Dave was born April 16, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, to Wesley andCrystal Solvason Hopkins. On July 5, 1985, he and Robin Hancockmarried in Walla Walla. They moved to this area from Seattle in 1981and he worked at American Fine Foods, retiring in 2008.He enjoyed woodworking, building everything very well; collectingwooden boats, building models; he enjoyed old cars and small enginerepair. He was a generous man, always wanting to help others. He hada big heart and happy soul.Survivors include his wife at their home; his daughter, Lynette Harrisof Walla Walla; two step-daughters: Suzette Johnson and Paulette bothof Tacoma, Washington; a son, Adam Hopkins of Walla Walla and astep-son, Sandy Eugene and his wife Riza also of Tacoma; two sistersand a brother-in-law, Sonia and Roger Gerow and Maureen Reynolds allof Walla Walla; fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren andmany nieces nephews to whom he was a father figure. He waspreceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael Hopkins, and twonieces: Kayleen Hopkins and Suzie Bowen.
