Dorothy was born August 17, 1903, in Walla Walla to Walter and Margaret Brogan Hill. She was baptized at St. Patrick Church as an infant. At the age of 2 she moved with her family to The Dalles, and later to the family's farm at Antelope, Ore. She spent most of her adult years in Seattle, where she was employed by Bell Telephone/Quest. In later years she made her home with her youngest sister, Winifred Thomsen, in Hermiston, before returning to Walla Walla in 2002.
Her faith and family were most important to Dorothy. She is remembered for her excellent memory. She remained remarkably mentally and physically active until her death. She was fiercely independent but remembered and cared about the lives of others.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Winifred Thomsen of Walla Walla; brother and wife, Fred and Beth Hill of Culver, Ore.; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hill of Hood River, Ore.; niece, Kitty Leaf of Sisters, Ore.; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne, Vernon and Philip Hill; and two sisters, Margaret Leaf and Grace Crowley.
