David McBride passed away at Overlake Hospital in
Bellevue, WA., May 30, 2010. David was born March 4, 1950,
in Walla Walla to Ardell and Geanice Parsons McBride. He
started school at Prospect Point, moved on to Berney School,
Pioneer Junior High and graduated from Wa-Hi in 1968. David
graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in
Zoology. David enjoyed his school years; he was a good student,
earning high grades. He especially enjoyed band, playing his
trombone, and his Latin classes at Wa-Hi, and the University
David worked to put himself through college, while in high
school he purchased peddle bicycle ice cream carts. He worked
hard selling ice cream bars and popsicles, he was known as the
"The Ice Cream Man." After working in the mortgage business,
David went to work for Boeing in 1983, and enjoyed twentyseven
years of employment with Boeing.
David was an avid golfer and bowler, but truly cherished his
time with his nieces and nephews. Always supportive of the
special days and events in their lives, he will be missed by all.
David is survived by his mother and step-father, Geanice
and Don Meiners of Waitsburg; two brothers, Ron E. (Pamela)
McBride of Walla Walla, Kenneth (Beth) McBride of Tualatin,
Oregon, and a sister, Marilyn. David is also survived by three
nieces, Melissa, Mandy and Marissa McBride, two nephews,
Matt and Rem Tanner McBride. David is also survived by
uncles, aunts and many cousins. David is also survived by
a step-brother, Guy (Leslie) Meiners of Walla Walla, and
step-sister, Annette Meiners Lamon of Spokane, WA.
David was preceded in death by his father, Ardell McBride.
Inurnment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in David's name to the Blue Mountain Humane
Society, Hospice or the Christian Aid Center, in care of the Herring
Groseclose Funeral Home.
