TRI-CITIES - The Walla Walla Xplosion 10-and-under girls fastpitch softball team finished third in the National Softball Association State Tournament held here over the weekend. The Xplosion finished with an overall record of 4-2 in the tournament.
The Xplosion lost its first game of the tournament to Washington Speed, 8-4, and then had to fight back through the loser's bracket. They then beat Moses Lake Rattlers, 14-0, Clark County A's, 5-4, Blaze '99, 9-2, and Woodinville Reign, 5-4.
The Xplosion then faced Washington Speed again for a spot in the championship game and lost by a score of 9-4.
The Xplosion play in their final tournament of the season this weekend when they compete in the Wasington State ASA State Championship in Lacey, Wash.
The Xplosion is a select team from the Blue Mountain Girls Softball Association. Players include Selina Atkinson, Kaylee Brown, Kamryn Coleman, Jacqueline Conklin, Ashley Halazon, Lauren Hoe, Faith Hoe, Abigail Lapier, Teisha Payne. Madalyne Thomas, Bow Maiden and Emma Case.
The team is coached by Andy Coleman, Kevin Halazon, Corey Davis, Tim Payne and Kaela Hoe.
