The Whitehouse-Crawford is ringing in a new "Cocktail Hour" at 5 p.m.

The fine-dining restaurant that brought new life to a 100-year-old converted planing mill, is now adding its own take to what's commonly known as "happy hour," said chef Jamie Guerin.

In this case, cocktail hour runs until 6:30 p.m. nightly, except Tuesdays when the restaurant, 55 W. Cherry St., is closed.

All drinks, beer and wine by the glass are discounted 20 percent (excluding wines by the bottle). Guerin said discounted bar menu specials will also be offered.

"We are hoping people will stop in after work, or before the movies, or before a night on the town," he said. For more details on the restaurant operation, call 525-2222 or visit: www.whitehousecrawford.com.
