MILTON-FREEWATER -- Students in their junior year of high school throughout the region are invited to a workshop tackling the process of getting into college.
Students and parents are invited to McLoughlin High School on Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. for the Junior College Night Workshop. The free informational event will be held in the high school's library, and is open to any interested students in the 11th grade.
The workshop will focus on the tasks juniors should do now to prepare for schooling beyond high school. Gretchen Beckner with ASPIRE will be a guest presenter.
General information will be provided on how to choose the right college, applying for financial aid or scholarships, and on the specific tasks that juniors can do now to ease the process as seniors. Tips include how to prepare for a good senior year and how to avoid scams. A question and answer session will conclude the night.
The event is coordinated by Mac-Hi's counseling center, the ASPIRE program and the Education Talent Search or ETS program.
