Willard John Pedersen, 66, of Walla Walla, passed away suddenly Feb. 26, 2010. He served in the Army from 1963 with Battery C 4th Battalion BN 62nd Arty. FBT 4th USA before transferring to the Army Reserve in 1967. He obtained the rank of Specialist 4 Class and left the service in 1968.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Jeffery of Spokane Valley, her sons, Isaac and Jacob; son, John Pedersen Jr., his wife Melanie of Wenatchee, their children, Brittani and Brandon; his siblings, Shirley Schultz Curry and Sally Diane Morford of Walla Walla, Wanda Shepard and Judy Hartman of Seattle and Lynn Christiansen of Sequim; Darryl Deccio, his lifelong friend and fishing buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Gladys (Boicourt) Pedersen and his brothers, Lester and Floyd Pederson, all of Walla Walla.

Services will be held March 12, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1821 S. Second Ave., Walla Walla, at noon.

HonorandRemember.org. Burial for Mr. Pedersen will follow later this year at the new military cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash.
