Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers
Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A complete listing of activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in the center's monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it. Spanish is spoken at the Center. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Call Mike Johnson at 509-527-0771 for information.
Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays at noon at The Center. Call 509-527-3775. Bread and milk are served with all meals and a salad bar is available Monday-Friday. The menu is:
Monday: Creamed chicken over biscuits, green beans, green salad, biscuit, fruit cocktail and cookie.
Tuesday: Beef Tater Tot casserole, corn, spinach salad, muffin, pears.
Wednesday: Baked chicken, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, fruit juice or salad, bread, cake and ice cream.
Thursday: Biscuits and port sausage gravy, green beans, mixed relish tray, fruit juice, biscuit, pumpkin squares.
Friday: Vegetable Lasagna, mixed vegetables, green salad, French bread, fruited Jell-O.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals available. Call 509-527-3775 with questions.
Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

Suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:
Tuesday: Roast beef, whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, orange juice, bread, oatmeal and raisin cookie, milk.
Friday: Spaghetti with meat balls, mixed vegetables, chilled pears and cheese, garlic bread, peach cobbler, milk.
The Weston menu is:
Wednesday: Chicken breast filet, au gratin potatoes, mixed vegetables, Jell-O with fruit salad, bread, brownies.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk are served with every meal. The suggested donation is $3. The menu this week is:
Thursday: Swiss steak, potatoes and gravy, buttered peas, dessert, hot rolls.
