PASCO - Drew Reinland shot a 69, and took the medalist honors after a playoff, at the Pasco Invite here on Tuesday.

Reinland edged Eric Graubrot of West Valley (Yakima) on the second hole of the playoff.

Reinland's round helped the young Blue Devil place eighth as a team in the 16-team field.

Wa-Hi's individual scorers at the one-day event included Reinland at 69, Jake Hanson at 80, Travis Morrison at 90, Brandon Kaup at 92 and Nick Atwood at a non-counting 96.

"We had a great round from Drew, but that was probably to be expected," Wa-Hi coach Jim Smith said. "On the way over to play, I asked Drew to give the freshmen an idea of what to expect on the course.

"Drew knows the course so well that he described the it hole by hole, every tree and every rock," Smith said.

"And Jake is just coming off shoulder surgery," Smith said. "So he hasn't been swinging a club as much as he normally would, but he'll come around.

"We're young, and we have to find replacements for two key seniors who played at the state tournament last year (Greg Prins and Ryan Goude)," he added.

Wa-Hi plays next at the Kennewick Invite on March 19.
