College Place resident, Leah Flemmer, 92, died March 8, 2010, at Walla Walla General Hospital.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Washington.

The graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Southwest 6th Street and Grandview Avenue, College Place. Pastor Ed Gienger will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Outreach through the funeral home.

Mrs. Flemmer was born March 20, 1917, in Napoleon, North Dakota, to Jacob and Christina Hoffer Graf. On November 3, 1935, she and Friedrich "Fred" Flemmer married in Napoleon. Her role as a wife, homemaker and
mother were of utmost importance to her, working hard on the farm to raise her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.

The family moved to College Place in 1987 from Nevada, Iowa. Mr. Flemmer died June 29, 2004. She was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Leah is survived by six daughters: Hilda McClure, Elsie Flemmer and Lorraine Ferguson of College Place, Gladys
Barnes of Portland, Oregon, Karen Flemmer also of College Place, and Sharon Welch of Olathe, Kansas; three sons: Clarence Flemmer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Elmer Flemmer of San Antonio, Texas and Harry Flemmer also of College Place; a brother, Huldrich Graf of Minnesota; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
