Julian A. "Jule" Owings, 70, passed away on March 9, 2010, in Puyallup.

Jule was born Feb. 22, 1940, to Eugene and Violet Owings, in Prairie City, Ore., the last of four children.
The family moved to Fossil, Ore., Weston, and finally settled in Milton-Freewater in 1946.
Jule was a trucker all his life, except for six years from 1957-1963, when he served in the Navy. He started driving during harvest at age 15. He went into the logging industry at age 16 and worked for numerous companies throughout the Northwest.
He started work for a company in Puyallup in 1987 that carried the U.S. mail under contract. He retired in 2005.
Jule enjoyed rebuilding old Mercedes-Benzes; he had seven of them. He also loved the "Two-Step" in all its variations and still danced to the end.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, at the home; son Duffy and daughter Julie, both of California; two sisters, Shirley, of Madera, Calif., and Laural of Puyallup; and brother Darrell of Milton-Freewater.
