MILTON-FREEWATER -- The local Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicles Division office will be closed Friday as part of a state-mandated cost-cutting plan.
The one-day closure is the third of 10 unpaid furlough days employees are required to take through 2011, said David House, DMV spokesman. Along with all DMV offices, many other Oregon state offices and facilities will be closed as well.
People will still be able to do business with DMV on-line, including most passenger vehicle registration renewals, change of address and notice of sale of vehicles.
All DMV offices will resume regular schedules after the furlough day, House said.
