Irish boys, Dayton girls take second at Golfland jamboree

PASCO - The DeSales boys and the Dayton girls each placed second in the team competition at a four-school prep golf jamboree at Golfland here Thursday.

The scores in the boys competition were Tri-Cities Prep 157, DeSales 176, Liberty Christian 183 and Dayton incomplete.

The scores for the girls were Tri-Cities Prep 208, Dayton 227 with Liberty Christian and DeSales incomplete.

Cole Scott of Tri-Cities Prep shot a 28 on the par-27 course for boys' medalist score.

Semantha Pegram of Tri-Cities Prep and Kelsi Williams of Liberty Christian each shot a 38 to share the girls' medalist honors.

With the top five scores counting in the teams' totals, the Irish individual boys' scorers included Ryan Baumgaert 30, Ben Konen 33, Kyle Konen 36, Bryce Scott 37 and Justin Meyer 40.

DeSales' non-counting scorers included Matt Zimmerman 47 and Chris Xie 50.

The Irish individual girls' scorers were Kelly Martin 42, Bethany Konen 48, Alyssa Lyons 54 and Ashley Montgomery 58.

The Dayton boys' scorers included Dain Henderson 33, Andrew Groom 43, Traskx Rawlings 45 and Grant Heinrich 50.

The Dayton girls' scorers were Kalee Lytle 42, Molly Payne 42, Cheyenne Bell 44, Cailyn Tate 44 and Kyla Ihle 55.

Dayton's non-counting girls' scorers were Chelsea Martin and Carly Grimshaw at 56.

DeSales returns to action with a 2 p.m. start on Wednesday at Canyon Lakes.
