Walla Walla gets award for Comprehensive Plan


WALLA WALLA - The city's Comprehensive Plan 2007 Review & Update was awarded by the American Planning Association in 2009 for having an "excellent use" of public participation, among other notable mentions.

It was the city's second award for its Comprehensive Plan, which also received the 2009 Governor's Smart Communities Award.

Walla Walla's plan was among 11 award winners across the state in seven different categories of the Washington 2009 Planning Awards.

The city was also noted for having a good use of technology, presenting a clear and readable document and for having addressed sustainability issues.
