WALLA WALLA- Whitman College senior Matt Solomon, selected student-athlete of the week for the Northwest Conference for men's tennis for a second straight week, was busy last week.
Solomon plays No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. He played six matches in six days, ending Sunday.
Solomon got started early in the week with a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory over Linfield's Mark Magdaong.
After shutting out Pacific the next day (with Solomon notching victories in singles and doubles), the Missionaries headed to California for a series of matches against other nationally-ranked teams.
Solomon capped his week on Sunday with 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) victory over Brian Pybas of UC-Santa Cruz.
