MILTON-FREEWATER - Touchet scored seven third-inning runs here Thursday in boys baseball action.
The Indians batted around, took advantage of three walks from Mac-Hi pitchers, and got a two-run double off the bat of Tuff Goble to highlight the uprising.
Both teams eventually turned the game over to younger players as the Indians went on to score a 19-11 win over the Mac-Hi junior varsity.
The Pioneers took a 5-3 lead with four runs in the second inning behind doubles from Dylan Garcia and Kevin Cuellar, but the Indians answered in the top of the third and never trailed the rest of the way.
Touchet's varsity players finished their day by posting four more in the top of the fourth. Goble finished with two hits, Marshall Byerly chipped in two more, Travis Fowler also had two safeties, and Matt Kates added two as Touchet pounded out 11 hits in building a 14-5 lead after four innings.
"I was pleased with how we swung the bats," Touchet coach Wayne Dickey said. "Overall, we did a pretty good job. And everybody on both sides got to play and that turned out good."
The young Pioneers scored a run in the fifth to negate the 10-run rule and continued to chip away to run the final to 19-11.
Garcia and Jose Aguilar paced the Pioneers' 11-hit attack with two hits each.
Touchet opened league play at 2 p.m. today as it hosted Colton.
The Pioneers' varsity travels to Elgin Saturday for a non-conference matchup.
