WALLA WALLA - Wa-Hi started spring break on an upbeat note here Friday in girls Columbia Basin Big Nine tennis action.
The Blue Devils swept all four singles matches and went on to defeat Pasco, 6-1.
"The girls came in and took care of business today," Wa-Hi coach Keven Peck said. "Pasco is always tough and the girls handled their matches very well."
Presley Peck, Tianna Cummings and Claire Konen each won their singles in straight sets, with Cummings posting a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Kristine Leier dropped her first set 6-2 to Misti Smith, but roared back with 6-2, 6-2 wins to take the match.
"For the second match in a row (Wa-Hi defeated Kennewick 6-1 Thursday), we got all four singles points," Peck said. "Our singles players - Presley, Tianna, Claire and Kristine - have all been really solid."
The Blue Devils completed the victory by winning two of the three doubles matches.
"In our doubles play, Shelby Osborn and Linnea Lake at our No. 1 doubles spot won a hard fought three-set battle," Peck said. "Chantel Dejarlais and Alison Mehn again teamed up to capture a much needed No. 2 doubles point."
Wa-Hi improves to 3-1 and takes spring break off before hosting Moses Lake on April 8.
"Playing back-to-back matches is always difficult, especially when it involves some travel," Peck said. "The girls played two solid days of tennis. They should be proud of their performances."
