Pomeroy gives up unearned runs in Saturday loss

POMEROY - A quartet of unearned runs in the second inning did in the Pomeroy Pirates here Saturday during an 8-3 non-conference loss to Grangeville.

The contest was called after four innings due to inclement weather.

"If we hadn't played kick the ball around in the second ... that really hurt us," Pomeroy coach Dave Boyer said.

The Pirates close out the regular season Tuesday with a home twin bill against Lacrosse-Washtucna.
