COLLEGE PLACE -- Police are asking the public's help in finding a person who robbed a video game store last week.

The robbery took place about 1:30 p.m. at the GameStop Store, 1605 Meadowbrook Blvd., which is in the strip mall across from Wal-Mart.

According to a police department release, a male entered the store and took two game systems while making a threat to harm the salesperson. Although no weapon was displayed, the suspect implied he had one, police said. The man fled the store on foot and was seen entering a light-colored van driven by a woman in an adjacent parking lot.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male, 5-foot-7-inches to 5-foot-8-inches tall with numerous tattoos on each arm.

The man had been in store earlier and was believed to have been accompanied by the woman in the van, who did not enter the store.

Police Chief Dennis Lepiane said information about the robbery wasn't put out until Monday because officers "thought we might have a reasonable chance of locating the vehicle and didn't want to alert the suspect."

"When that didn't work out, we decided to go ahead and put out a release," he said. "We did debate whether send out a release earlier, but decided to withhold the information for the time being."
